Morning Sunshine!

Today is such a beautiful day!! Suns out, guns out — haha well not that nice out for me (I need 80 degrees for that)–what can I say?? I’m acclimated to the desert sun.

With such beautiful weather I couldn’t pass up this opportunity for an early morning run — it sure wasn’t my best run, but it wasn’t the worst either. A slow run is better than no run in my book. A swift 2.5 miles really sets you up for a energized day!!

This morning I wanted a super tasty smoothie so I made a Green-colada–haha yes I just made that up.

green=go!

Green-colada Smoothie Ingredients:

1 tbsp. flax seed

1 handful of chopped kale

1/2 cup frozen pineapple

1/2 cup greek yogurt

1/2 frozen banana

enough flax milk to get the smoothie moving

topped with almond slices

The pineapple in this smoothie gives it such a tropical feeling — going perfect with this sunny weather :]

  1. Nice!! My mind it’s telling me it’s almost 8pm, it’s dark outside and there is snow, sooooo cold, you still have to do laundry tonight, clean dishes, wake up early…. But my body is screaming! MOOOVE! Let’s go! So I guess I owe it to me. Gotta move! And as you said, a slow run or short run it’s better than no run! Here we go….

    • haha you will feel so much better after you go for a short run — it will give you the energy to do laundry, clean the dishes, etc. plus it’ll make you feel good about yourself & confident :] I agree–no run is better than no run!! Stay warm — snow = me freezing. I don’t know how you all do it..major kuddos to you pretty!

  2. Love the sound of that smoothie. I usually like bananas and peanut butter in mine. Lately I’ve been feeling like the tin man and so my major focus has been on stretching properly. I find it easy to cut corners on that but it’s catching up with me. Nice post :)

    • haha yeah I hear ya on that!! The thing I love about pilates is we always stretch at the end & foam roll. It makes your muscles feel so much better :] thanks for the love — PB & bananas are my fav. combo!!
