After being in hair school for a little over a year my sister-in-law (Sann) is determined to get her booty back in shape for her upcoming beach trip & just to be healthy & fit — can I get a woohoo?! The great thing about this is she’s letting me train her — I was a little nervous at first because I didn’t know if I would be good in a teaching role, but after today I think I’m hooked. It’s fun helping people feel the burn and getting healthy :] Join along as I will be posting workouts everyday we workout & some of the meals we eat, but not all of them for the sake of having a life. Sooo let’s get down to business.
So before I headed to my in-laws home gym I whipped up some protein flax waffles. I was a little worried about these because I omitted the eggs, but they turned out great. Even my husband liked them & he was full for a long time – double plus!
- 1/4 cup oat flour (grind oats in blender until a flour consistency)
- 1 scoop protein powder (I use Sun Warrior Vanilla)
- 2 flax eggs (2 tbsp ground flax & 6 tbsp water)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tbsp PB2 (optional)
- 1/4 cup Almond milk
While mixing dry ingredients let ground flax sit in the water. Mix together oat flour, protein powder, cinnamon, and PB2. Mix in almond milk and flax eggs. Heat Waffle maker or skillet & spray with non-sticking spray. Cook thoroughly and top with sliced almonds, strawberries, and light honey. This is a perfect & balanced meal to start your day out with.
