Fab Friday

Hey lovelies!

I hope you all are having a great start to you fab friday–today I switched up my workout with a killer TRX class, and let me tell you it was a killer. My muscles are def. feeling it. I love switching up my work outs to make sure I’m working all of my muscles-muscle confusion is key.Plus TRX is one of my favorite workouts. It is based around suspension body weight exercises which builds all body strength, flexibility, and your core all at once. Plus it’s fun! I’m really debating on buying one of these for my house — it’s that good! Learn more about TRX here, or find a gym in your area that offers this 3-D workout! If you are in the Las Vegas Area, Inferno Pilates offers this class at 9:00 M-F, it’s a great way to start your day. love.

I burned 363 calories in the 45 min. TRX class — and the great thing is, the calorie burn keeps on going long after the workout.

A heart of giving is a admirable thing to have. Yesterday, I went to an annual luncheon held by Catholic Charities of Las Vegas where they honored some lovely people with the Heart of Hope award. An award that is given to some of the most generous, kind, and inspirational people–who help change & give hope to other peoples lives. This statement, “We make a living with what we get, but we make a life by what we give” is what I strive to live by, because I truly believe that a giving heart is what will bring you more joy than anything else. I’m so blessed to be surrounded by such loving, caring, genuine, and selfless people in this world. My family & friends are the best!

and of course, it wouldn’t be a fab. friday without a BABY NALA update–she is 10 weeks today and you guys she really is the sweetest girl. She loves to be loved on & held like a little baby. She is a curious little bugger though, sniffing everything, chewing on sticks, her toys & sleeping a bunch! She is a growing girl & I have to be honest, she’s a daddy’s girl — I don’t blame her — he is the best!!

Another thing I love about Friday is the fact that the new movies come out — and I can’t even tell you how excited I am to see Identity Thief tonight!! Review to come — I think that’s enough for my fab. friday round-up! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend & remember think happy & be happy!

Apple Cinnamon Nachos

My go to fruit is the ever so scrumptious & perfectly sweet apple! You will always find an apple or 6 in my fridge–we can’t get enough of them in our house.

There are so many ways you can enjoy an apple–sliced with almond butter, in a salad, or in your smoothies & juices.

I have to be honest with you all though — Apple NACHOS is where it’s at. Seriously if you have a sweet tooth and don’t feel like shoveling thousands of calories into your mouth with a spoon this should be your go to snack. There is something to be said about the taste of roasted apples. It literally brings this dish to flavor town –

Try these out tomorrow as your go to super easy Super Bowl snack – you won’t be disappointed.

This is what you will need to make the tasty Apple Nachos:

1 sliced apple (Gala, Honeycrisp, or your fav. apple)

1 tsp. lemon juice

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tbsp melted natural peanut butter

1 tbsp sliced raw almonds

1 tbsp melted dark chocolate (70% cocoa)

1/2 tbsp agave nectar or honey

**optional – shredded coconut

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Start by slicing your apple into eighths and coat them with  1 tsp. lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Next sprinkle 1 tsp. cinnamon all over the apples and drizzle with 1/2 tbsp. of agave nectar or honey on top of the slices. Pop them into your oven for 10 minutes or until tender. Then top with melted peanut butter (melt in microwave for 20 seconds) and chocolate (melt in microwave for 20 seconds), and sliced almonds & coconut.


This is the perfect way to get that apple a day & the extra fiber your digestive system needs :] Plus the protein in the peanut butter, & the antioxidants galore in that ever so sweet dark chocolate. This will be a fan favorite — and it’s fun to eat! Perfect for kids and anybody with a sweet tooth–like me!
